120 Minutes was a show on MTV that started at… what? 1130pm? So we would watch it but definitely couldn’t watch the whole thing because school started early. I woke up every day at 630am for school. That’s crazy. Why does school have to start so early? SCHOOL SUX.
Anyway, 120 Minutes was THE ONLY COOL THING ON MTV. At least the only thing you were allowed to really admit you watched. But you HAD to watch it. If you didn’t, the other alternative kids would be like, “You don’t know what 120 Minutes is?!?!?” And then you’d feel really stupid. That was the worst thing ever. Being dissed by one of your own was much more humiliating than being dissed by a jock for having blue hair or wearing fishnets. In fact, getting dissed by normies was your ticket into being awesome. So thanks dickheads!
There was no MTV2 and there was no Tivo. If you wanted to watch the whole thing (you did) you needed to pop your blank tape into the VCR and make sure your parents didn’t fuck with it while you were sleeping. At least this is what I did cuz I wasn’t allowed to have a TV in my room.
I realize this makes me seem old and grumpy, talking about “In my day, when we had VCRs” and maybe you’re visualizing me shaking a stick at you or something.
Well, maybe I am!

Day 001 — A show that should have never been canceled.
“Tom Goes To The Mayor” (2004 — 2006)
Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, Brian Posehn, Michael Ian Black, Bob Odenkirk, Stephanie Courtney, Ron Lynch, Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis, Jeff Goldblum, Sarah Silverman, and the list continues. The show was an epic Tim and Eric production and another amazing show for Adult Swim that was, unfortunately, canceled after thirty episodes. It was undoubtedly one of the best shows on Adult Swim, with its incredibly awkward situations and even more awkward character movements.
